Types of Traveling
Everyone travels.. You travel to families gatherings, holiday get togethers, travel through history and even travel for vacation. Imagine that :). I mean, even if you are from a small little town like Concordia, Missouri you travel to Branson, Missouri for most family gatherings, holiday get togethers, vacations, camping...you get the picture. So then I guess my point is what does it mean to be a "traveler?" Do you have to travel outside of the country to be say that you have "traveled?" The parents in my new job travel for work quite a bit, yet I have a hard time believing they consider themselves, "travelers." So lets break down these different travelers. Firstly, you have your business travelers who go only for work. You have your home bound/holiday travelers, your vacationers, and finally, you have your adventurous travelers. Have I missed any? So yes, most everyone is a traveler, however what can we call those who are out to discover the world through adventure and experience? Any ideas? I'll have to work on that one....

Those are the ones we wish we could be. Those that hoard travel books like they are food. Those that make it to places only others dream of. Those who see the sights that are meant to be seen and those who look upon every day as a chance to see something new. Those like you.

Hi sweetie! Hmmmm...let's see...I traveled to arrive & live in this country, I travel all over this earth to see friends & family, I traveled for a living as a flight attendant, I travel for pleasure (travel AS pleasure ;) I travel because I have to...not HAVE to as a trial but MUST to continue being sane. We are kindred travelers my dear. Much meaningful eye contact from one Nomadic Homebody to another ;) (also, the tiny orange print is hard for old people to read...like me ;) I love you. Sheila
ReplyDeleteA flight attendant is a traveler of their own :) I would consider you a traveler for just as you said, that need for more. Traveling is like a drug. You gotta shoot yourself with trips just to function properly. :)
